Joe came on board in 2010 to oversee our Utica Shale assets. We formed AEG in 2010 and established and managed the joint venture with Anadarko Petroleum from 2011-2014. Prior to forming AEG, Joe served as CEO and Director of Storm Cat Energy Corporation, VP and General Counsel of Medicine Bow Energy Corporation and VP of Land and General Counsel of Shenandoah Energy Inc. From 1989-1997, Joe was a member of the Vorys Sater Seymour & Pease LLP law firm in Columbus, OH. Prior to pursuing a law degree, Joe was a petroleum engineer with Marathon Oil Company and the Ohio-based engineering consulting firm of E.E. Templeton & Associates. Joe received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College and J.D. from the University of Cincinnati, College of Law.
EVP & COO
Mike Joined AEG in 2017 following 6 years as an independent consultant managing all phases of multi-stage completion activity in unconventional plays across the Lower 48. He spent over 15 years with Penn Virginia Oil & Gas with positions of increasing responsibility up to VP of Operations leading design, evaluation, implementation and optimization teams focusing on unconventional resource plays and high grading conventional prospects. Basin experience includes Bossier/Haynesville, Eagle Ford, Selma Chalk and Appalachia. Mike received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University.
VP & CFO
Bill joined AEG in January 2018. Immediately prior to joining AEG Bill spent 2 years working as an industry consultant. Bill served as EVP and CFO at Bonanza Creek Energy, Inc. from 2013-16. Bill has been a member of the Board of Directors of Oasis Petroleum (NYSE: OAS) since 2010. Bill spent over 18 years in financial services: Investment Banking at JPMorgan Chase (1995-2001), Banc of America Securities (2002-2006) and Barclays Capital (2006-2008), where he led the E&P Investment Banking team and Asset Management with RPA Capital. Bill started his oil and gas career as a Geophysicist with Conoco. He received a B.Sc. Geology and Math from the National University of Ireland, Cork; an M.Sc. in Petroleum Geophysics from The Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
VP, Midstream & Marketing
David joined AEG in June 2018 to develop its midstream and marketing strategy. David founded EnVent Energy LLC in 2000, advising numerous E&P companies in basins across the US on gathering, processing, transportation and marketing of natural gas, oil and natural gas liquids. He was previously senior marketing executive for Santa Fe Snyder Corporation, Snyder Oil Corporation and Ladd Petroleum Corporation with responsibility for marketing, development and operation of midstream businesses. David is the former Chairman of the Colorado Oil and Gas Association and a board member for more than 25 years. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Matador Resources Company (NYSE: MTDR). David received an MS in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines and a BA from Brown University.
President of EMF. Bob has served as consulting geologist for Artex Oil since 1996 and AEG since inception. EMF provides geologic consulting, seismic interpretation, prospect generation, well-site geology and geological database management services. Bob has over 26 years as a consulting geologist and has completed well-site geology on over 500 wells and interpreted over 400 square miles of 3D seismic in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Bob has a B.S. and M.S. in Geology from the University of Akron and is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, SEPM Society for Sedimentary Geology and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
Jud joined us in 2012. Prior to AEG, Jud was the EVP of Land at Stocker & Sitler Oil Co., VP of Land at CGAS Exploration and Land Manager for the Eastern Division at EnerVest Operating. Jud was a co-founder and President of Flint Ridge Energy, Ltd. Jud received his B.S. in Business Administration from The Ohio State University in 1975. Prior to graduating from OSU Jud served as Military Policeman in the U.S. Army stationed in Bad Tolz, Germany. Jud is a past Trustee of the EMLF, past President of the Michael Late Benedum Chapter of the AAPL, and served as a Director to the AAPL from 1998-2001. In 2017, Jud received the J.W. Findley Lifetime Achievement Award from the Michael Late Benedum Chapter of the AAPL.
VP, Business Development and General Counsel
Chad joined us in 2010. Chad is responsible for asset business development, including industry-partner relationships, contract negotiation and legal. Prior to joining the Artex team, Chad owned a private law practice with a primary emphasis on oil and gas title examination, estate planning and probate in Ohio and West Virginia. He received a B.A. in Business Administration from Marietta College and J.D. from Capital University Law School.
